This Blue Globe Thistle is at the very beginning of its bloom cycle. It is wonderful to watch how these flowers come into full bloom starting at the top of the globe and moving towards the bottom giving us a wondrous ball of blue.
Aptly named "Echinops", which means, "hedgehog" in Greek, is the botanical name for this flower.
